Jane Austin is the founder of Persuasion Communications, an independent agency that specialises in innovative and proactive communications solutions for consumer, creative businesses and tech industries.
Persuasion works with some of the very best agencies in the UK, and its clients, including adam&eve/DDB, Droga5, Grey and AMV BBDO, enjoy unbeatable reputations around the world. Persuasion has also won five Cannes Lions.
Jane founded Persuasion after 15 years of working on both national and trade press titles. Her aim was to grow the company into a newsroom providing fast, proactive and relevant insight across all sectors of the media. Besides London, Persuasion also has an offering in the US and is looking to develop an operation in Paris.
The company was founded on a journalist’s expertise and Persuasion has stayed true to those roots. Jane prides herself on keeping ahead of trends in the creative industries and beyond, hosting regular monthly events where opinion leaders explore cultural shifts in everything from Instagram art to afrovisibility.
Prior to launching Persuasion ten years ago, Jane was an editor on several advertising, media and design titles, including Campaign and Shots. Creative Review, Design Week and Ad Age. At the same time, she earned an MA in design history and theory and is the author of three design textbooks. Jane has also contributed to The Guardian, The Independent, the Daily Express and the Financial Times.
