Dave DeCecco

Dave DeCecco leads global communications for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchise company with more than 9,000 hotels in 90 countries. He is responsible for media relations, investor media relations, owner/franchise communications and internal communications for Wyndham’s portfolio of 20 brands including Days Inn, La Quinta, Microtel, Ramada, TRYP, Super 8 and Wingate. In this role, he implements global communications strategies to drive business and elevate the Wyndham story across multiple audiences.
Previously, Dave was vice president of communications for PepsiCo North America Beverages, a $22 billion division of PepsiCo. In this position, he oversaw media relations, internal communications, crisis/issues management and brand communications for PepsiCo’s beverage business in North America, which includes Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Tropicana, bubly, LIFEWTR, Naked Juice, Lipton and Starbucks. During his tenure, the company’s market share versus its largest competitor grew for four straight years. Dave created an infrastructure to better integrate brand marketing and communications to protect the reputation of the company; developed a new approach to employee communications through social media that improved morale and performance; delivered record-setting positive news coverage; led communications and public policy strategy to repeal and prevent beverage taxes; and created a major initiative to reduce beverage calorie consumption in select at-risk communities.
Prior to this role, he was director of the PepsiCo Global Media Bureau, where he handled CEO media appearances, financial communications, crisis management and the company’s efforts in environmental sustainability and nutrition. He also held positions of increasing responsibility within Pepsi-Cola North America.
Prior to joining PepsiCo, Dave was manager of marketing communications for the National Basketball Association (NBA) and a senior account executive at National Media Group, where he created the first National Hockey League-themed consumer promotion in the Czech Republic. He began his professional career as director of public relations for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).
Dave received a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts. He and his wife and their two sons reside in New York City.
